I admit, I have a fabric addiction. I prefer many small pieces, stacked in baskets in my sewing room where they inspire me to sew – or, more likely, where they stay and look like the art they are. My 15 year old daughter earned her first sewing machine in Sunday School at age 10 (for writing out the book of Philippians). She sews better than me now!
In case you like fabric and sewing stores, too, I thought I'd let you know Hancock Fabrics is having a big sale today only. They have $2.99/yard fleece and $1.69/yard flannel among other sales.
Need a quick gift? Purchase two yards of flannel. Cut them in half. Sew the halves together, wrong sides facing, leaving a small opening. Turn it right side out, then sew the opening closed. Voila! A blanket for a baby. Or a puppy's bed. Make it larger for someone larger. And add yarn ties or embroider on the border, if you like.
