Here is Part II of the December events that happened in history between December 16th-18th. Use the links below for lesson plans and project ideas to help you teach these important holidays & events to your students:
- Boston Tea Party: John Adams wrote of the dumping of the tea into the Boston Harbor: "There is a dignity, a majesty, a sublimity, in this last effort of the patriots that I greatly admire."
Read about the event at the Boston Tea Party Historical Society site
- Ludwig Von Beethoven, a famous composer, was born in 1770.
Listen to his music and read more about Beethoven at Classics for Kids (it's a wonderful site for teaching children music appreciation, by the way)
- The Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk in 1903.
Take this free aviation course from NASA for high schoolers
If you know of any historical events (from any country) that occurred between December 12-18, please share them in the comments section. And please let us know if you find good lesson plans, history links, or tutorials for the above holidays.
