2017/03 Update: We are so sad that Timez Attack is no longer available for home or homeschool use. 🙁 Super sad about that! Here are other math arcade-style learning games I’ve found; they’re not quite the same, but I hope they’ll ease the disappointment a bit.
Timez Attack is the most popular multiplication learning game we have highlighted on FreelyEducate.com. With it, your students will master the multiplication tables (and now division, too!) in record time, and they will not whine about it! Impossible, right? I thought so, until I witnessed how quickly our 10yo learned his tables while playing the game even outside of “math time.”
The creators of Timez Attack have a background in PlayStation video game designing. You can view a video of the game at the Timez Attack site (the video that explains it the best, to me, is the “Video Tour” at the top menu bar).
Here’s what Timez Attack says about the free version:
Yes–base version is TOTALLY FREE
Yes–even the base version teaches all the facts, 2 – 12
Proven to teach TOTAL mastery to average pre-3rd graders in just 10 hours
The difference between the free and paid versions is that your child will only be able to go through one area in the free version, meaning, he’ll do all his learning – all 2-12 multiplication facts – in one theme, the “dungeon” level (it’s not scary). If you purchased the other levels, your student could learn the same material while roaming in other interesting areas like “machines,” or “rock tower.”
How to Get This Freebie: Visit Timez Attack. Click on X (multiplication). And now division, addition & subtraction!
