Maker Camp is a free online summer camp in partnership with Google+, MAKE magazine, and Radio Shack. The camp is especially created for teens, and is a great opportunity for those of us who homeschool! This week is completely focused on DIY art and design. Millions are getting together on the MAKE+ Hangout everyday until August 16th at 11am PT/2pm ET, to create amazing things like robots, 3D tracking interfaces, and bike-powered phone chargers, with supplies you likely have around the house.
- Today- Building a device for colossal spin art fun & making a digital flipbook
- Tomorrow (Thursday) – Animate anything with a handmade phenakistoscope
- Fri- Hack with Hallmark field trip
- Weekend- LED throwies for beautiful lighting or party decoration
Visit Maker Camp to view a video of the summer camp, and to learn more.
Visit the MAKE+ Hangout to join in the learning fun at 11am PT/2pm ET every day until August 16th.
While you’re on Google+, look for the Freely Educate Google+ page.
And join the brand new Freely Homeschool Google+ community I created just the other day (it has a staggering 3 members right now, ha!). I’m hoping to use that community to discuss homeschooling more frequently with you, and to give you a chance to share your posts with us, too.
