I’ve been so busy graduating our firstborn that it has been hard to make time for blogging! Our eldest graduated on Sunday, in a little homeschool graduation party. In typical Seaborg fashion, the day was more about fun & friends than about ceremony. Here we are…
He has been to private school, public school, and blended school (a combination of homeschool & public school classes), but has been homeschooled since 3rd grade. He definitely prefers homeschooling! From his middle school years on, Brenden has chosen his own learning. His passions are political science and history.
Since he is a Summer birthday, and only turned 18 last week, I asked him to stick around an extra year before leaving home. He has been working full time, 44 hours a week, since last November (another homeschooling perk, to work so many hours at 17!), and will continue to work full time for another year while studying for, and taking, the ACT exam. He’ll also polish up his college-level math skills (because this area has not been a passion or priority of his until now that he needs it!).
I’ll share more soon! But not today. Today is a holiday for us.
Happy Independence Day, America!
