21 days ago, I posted that our family was joining Listerine – and inviting yours – to a challenge to use Listerine Ultraclean every morning and night, along with brushing our teeth. Did you join us?
How We Did the Challenge: We began the challenge in earnest, using our Listerine regularly.
Sometime between Day 1 and Day 21, our four children (ages 9-17) visited the dentist for their semi-annual checkup. As I mentioned in my last post, our 17-year-old already used Listerine daily. He actually prefers it to brushing, which is not recommended, but he's 17, and I left it up to the dentist to tell him that (he did).
How We Began New Habits: As with creating any new habit, we soon had a hard time remembering to use the mouthwash, so I placed a bottle on the kids' bathroom sink as a visual reminder.
The children also must brush their teeth before breakfast (yes, before. Somehow, it's easier to remember then), and before bed. So they know they should not eat in the morning or lay down at night before their teeth are brushed (and Listerine swished, this month!)
Why We Did the Challenge: Once I read that brushing your teeth alone misses 75% of your mouth, because the brush cannot reach every crevice and hideaway, I decided to add mouthwash to our family's oral care routine.
Our Results: We noticed that we got more used to the Listerine after just a few days of use. We also noticed better breath, of course, and smoother, cleaner teeth. Our youngest daughter preferred the Listerine Smart Rinse (Bubble Blast flavor), which has a really nice dispenser so she can't take too much. Our teens preferred the Listerine UltraClean.
Your family can take the 21 Day Listerine Challenge, too. Just sign up on the LISTERINE Facebook page (there's a coupon on that page!)
