I hope your children can join you today in voting for the man who will serve as the President of the United States from 2013-2016! If they cannot go to the polls with you, be sure to go for their sakes. In any case, no matter what country you’re in, today is a good opportunity to teach our children about elections.
I collected a few election resources for you (all free, unless mentioned):
The Declaration of Independence can be read in its entirety here, along with its history.
(You may also purchase a copy of the Declaration for $6, here)
The Democracy Project
site, maintained by PBS, covers US government material such as: “How
does Government Affect me?”, “Step Inside the Voting Booth,” and
“President for a Day.”
