I'd like your help writing this post today. I didn't think ahead – these days are passing so quickly – so I haven't yet found many lesson plans, classroom activities, or other teaching resources to share with you for today's American holiday, Veterans Day. Do you have any favorite resources or links to share?
To get us started, here is something from C-SPAN that arrived in my email inbox this morning:
StudentCam 2010 participant, Max Benning of Scottsdale, Arizona, recognized Veterans in his winning StudentCam video, "Coming Home – The Final Battle." A local news station recognized Benning for his winning video and invited him to their studios for an interview. If your middle school or high school student is interested in making a StudentCam project, look at the details here.
Also — the History Channel is offering 24-hour deals from now until December 20th. Today's deal is for 40% off a 10-disc anthology on World War II (shown above). View the details here.
